Vice President, Investments
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President, Investments to play a critical leadership role on our investment team. This individual will be responsible for leading the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of private equity investments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving transactions from inception to close and will contribute significantly to the firm's investment strategy and portfolio management.
This role offers substantial autonomy, direct engagement with C-level executives and founders, and the opportunity to shape the future of a rapidly growing investment platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end execution of investments, including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, structuring, and negotiation of definitive agreements.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of investment opportunities through a strong network of intermediaries, founders, and industry contacts.
- Oversee and mentor junior team members (Analysts and Associates) in financial analysis, modeling, and the preparation of investment committee materials.
- Serve as a key member of the investment committee, presenting and defending investment theses and recommendations.
- Manage portfolio company performance in partnership with management teams, providing strategic guidance and monitoring key value creation initiatives.
- Build and maintain deep sector expertise to identify emerging trends and investment opportunities.
- Represent Filion Capital at industry events and in meetings with partners, investors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 5--8 years of direct private equity experience, or a combination of private equity with prior investment banking or consulting experience.
- Demonstrated success in leading and closing transactions; proven ability to manage complex deal processes.
- Expert-level financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence skills.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at the senior level.
- Strong mentorship capabilities and a commitment to developing junior talent.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
- A genuine interest in global markets, with experience in or a strong appetite for investing in emerging markets (particularly Africa) viewed favorably.
