Chief Financial Officer
Position Overview
Filion Capital is seeking a strategic and operationally excellent Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as the financial leader for both the firm's management company and its investment funds. This executive role encompasses all aspects of financial management, including fund accounting, LP reporting, firm financial operations, tax, compliance, and risk management. The CFO will be a key business partner to the Managing Partners, providing critical insights to drive firm strategy, profitability, and scalability.
This is a highly visible leadership position, essential for ensuring the financial integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic growth of the entire Filion Capital platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations for the Filion Capital management company, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and internal controls.
- Lead all fund accounting and administration for multiple investment vehicles, ensuring accurate and timely calculation of NAV, partner capital allocations, and carried interest.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Limited Partners (LPs) for all financial reporting, ensuring transparency and compliance with fund governing documents.
- Manage relationships with external service providers, including auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators, legal counsel, and banks.
- Develop and implement robust financial and operational policies, procedures, and systems to support the firm's rapid growth and scaling.
- Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory requirements (SEC, IRS) and oversee the firm's risk management framework.
- Partner with the deal team on the financial structuring of transactions, fund modeling, and portfolio company performance analysis.
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the executive team, offering data-driven insights on firm performance, profitability, and new business initiatives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA required.
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a significant portion gained within the private equity industry.
- Proven experience as a CFO or Head of Finance for a private equity firm, or as a senior professional (e.g., Controller) with deep exposure to fund accounting, LP reporting, and carried interest calculations.
- Expert technical knowledge of US GAAP, investment company accounting, and tax matters relevant to private equity funds and their management companies.
- Extensive experience managing the audit process and liaising with top-tier audit firms.
- Strong knowledge of SEC compliance rules and regulations (e.g., Advisers Act).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the investment team, senior leadership, LPs, and board members.
- Strategic, forward-thinking mindset with a hands-on, operational approach to problem-solving.
