Market Intelligence Lead
Position Overview
Filion Capital is seeking a sharp, analytically rigorous Market Intelligence Lead to power our investment engine with deep, actionable insights. This individual will be responsible for building and managing a centralized function that delivers forward-looking market analysis, competitive landscaping, and sector deep-dives to inform our investment strategy and due diligence processes. This role is the nexus of information within the firm, transforming raw data into strategic intelligence that gives Filion a consistent competitive advantage.
The ideal candidate is a master of research and synthesis, with a knack for identifying the signal in the noise and a passion for connecting trends to investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the firm's market intelligence capability, developing processes and systems to efficiently gather, analyze, and disseminate insights across the investment team.
- Produce comprehensive research on sectors, industries, and companies, including market sizing, growth projections, competitive dynamics, regulatory landscapes, and disruptive threats.
- Develop and maintain detailed competitive profiles and benchmarking analyses for companies within our target investment universe.
- Support the investment team throughout the deal lifecycle, providing critical intelligence during sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring phases.
- Monitor emerging global trends, technologies, and business models that could create new investment opportunities or risks for our portfolio.
- Curate and manage a centralized intelligence platform (e.g., a CRM or knowledge management system) to serve as the single source of truth for all research and market data.
- Synthesize complex information from primary and secondary sources into clear, concise, and visually compelling reports, presentations, and executive briefs.
- Act as a subject-matter expert and strategic thought partner to investment professionals.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience in a strategic research or intelligence role, such as management consulting, equity research, business intelligence, or a dedicated market intelligence function within private equity or venture capital.
- Expert-level qualitative and quantitative research skills, with mastery of premium data sources (e.g., Capital IQ, PitchBook, Bloomberg, Statista, specialist industry reports).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a strong plus.
- Exceptional analytical and synthesis abilities, with a proven track record of turning data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Intensely curious, proactive, and able to operate both independently and as a collaborative partner to deal teams.
- A strong interest in global markets, with particular curiosity about emerging markets and disruptive innovation.
